Getting the Lowest Las Vegas Hotel Rates

Getting Lowest Las Vegas Vacation Deal Rates

1.) Make sure there are no conventions, since they can really drive up rates. You can see convention dates by visiting this link. Avoid dates with large conventions having 30,000 or more people.

2.) Go during the week (Sunday-Thursday). Friday/Saturday rates are much higher. Avoid going on a holiday.

3.) Hot weather means cheaper rates. July and August are hot and will get you discount hotel rates. Take advantage of cheap rates offered for most of December. The biggest discounts happen between Christmas and New Years.

4.) Check with us first for lowest hotel rates! We have much lower overhead than the “big guys” and can afford to give you the cheapest prices. In most cases we are also cheaper than the hotel websites. Hotel websites don’t want to compete with large online companies, since they risk being removed because of low sales. Also, don’t assume rates are the same when you call a hotel or travel agency. When you book online rates are often much lower. Someone has to pay those support agents for their time.

5.) If you need air and hotel, don’t assume a package deal is always better. The actual benefit depends on many factors, such as the airfare cost. We suggest getting the best hotel and air rates separately. You can then compare it to a package rate.

6.) They don’t call it Loss Vegas / Lost Vegas for nothing! Make sure to consider your gambling budget as part of your overall trip cost and make sure you have a quit limit.

Lets go to Las Vegas

When you hear the word “Las Vegas”, what comes to mind? The most common answers is lights, casinos, attractions, shows, shopping, tours, if not overnight wedding plans. When planning a Las Vegas family vacation take the time to research the hottest places in Las Vegas to see. Then when you come to Las Vegas your vacation will be more enjoyable.

If you’re planning on a trip to Las Vegas you might want to book for at least three days if you want to make your Las Vegas Family Travel stay really worth it.

When you arrive, there are so many attractions to visit. Recommend to plan ahead as to where you are heading when you go to Las Vegas. Here are some recommended spots that you must see in Las Vegas.

The Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas is definitely the first on the list for tourists who plan to go to Las Vegas, so be sure that you don’t miss this. The resort is absolutely breathtaking, and the perfectly choreographed fountains are definitely the best free show you can ever see in Las Vegas. With the show outside, you might want to grab some food at the Olives and indulge yourself at the Bellagio hotel while you are at it. The Bellagio Hotel is one of the most popular sites in the city, and inside you can find yourself in a recreated Venice, with shopping centers and art boutiques.

Another place that is worth seeing is Fremont Street. It is the home to more than 12 million lights and a sound system that will literally take your breath away when you hear the beats pumping. This is in downtown Las Vegas, and it is one of the most visited attractions at night. There are musicians, entertainers, dancers, magicians, and many more performers. The street is covered with a 90 foot high canopy, and is not open to automobile traffic. This sight is definitely something you would not want to miss while in Vegas.

The Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas is a casino and hotel known for its artificial volcano that erupts every night in a spectacular fire and water show. When inside, you will experience the feeling of being out of the city, even out of civilization, as you walk through a rainforest with waterfalls and once you are in, you will never want to go out. This is also the home of a number of wildcats and some bottlenose dolphins, and you will find that the front desk is actually home to a saltwater aquarium with twenty thousand gallons of water! With all these things to see, the shops, casinos and food are already only considered as pluses.

When in Vegas, people who are culturally inclined will want to see the shows. There is no specific recommendation on what show to see, because there are so many good shows in Vegas that you will have to see at least one. What show you will watch will depend on your taste, but a lot of people would watch The Blue Man Group, Phantom of the Opera, and Cirque du Soliel. Shows change from time to time though, so it would be nice to know what is on before you decide on what to watch.

Know your Surroundings in Las Vegas

When planning a Las Vegas vacation there are safety consideration to keep in mind. Obviously, with any big city, you must be aware of your surroundings Las Vegas is no exception.

In Las Vegas there are many outdoor shows: Bellagio’s water show, Treasure Island’s pirate ship battle, the Mirage’s volcano, Fremont Street Experience, etc. These events can get quite crowded, and many times you will find yourself shoulder to shoulder with others. Bottom Line is common sense says that it is wise to realize a simple bump from behind may be just that, or it may be someone attempting to grab some cash. Many people are looking to make a quick buck in Las Vegas, and many try to do that by pickpocketing others!

Here are some safety tips when planning a Las Vegas vacation.

Make sure your wallet is in a safe place. Highly encouraged that men keep their wallets in their front pocket.

Women should always their purses zipped shut and that have a strap that can goes diagonal across one shoulder.

Las Vegas is a safe city by always keep in mind your surroundings and enjoy your Las Vegas vacation.

How to Get Cheap Tickets to Las Vegas Shows

There are hundreds of ways to get cheap tickets to Las Vegas shows. Las Vegas is considered the entertainment capital of the World, and the numerous discount offers on Las Vegas vacation packages ensure a regular flow of tourists. But most discounts aren’t like your usual cheerful stroll in the park.

Shows are in demand just like anything else. Ticket prices can range so it is best to reserve early. Compare ticket rates at many different locations if possible. The key to a discount show tickets is lots of information and the more you have the better your chances of saving a few dollars.

There are several ways to buy affordable tickets for Las Vegas shows.

Each one has its advantages and disadvantages depending on the situation:

Buy same-day show tickets at half price at several booth locations spread all over the Las Vegas Strip.

One can get very good deals under such short notice at these locations that have a list of available shows at that time. Tix4Tonight is the most popular company operating these booths with 10 locations on the Strip and one downtown. Two of their locations are near Circus-circus and two other are near MGM Grand. They typically open at 10AM and close at night but be prepared for long queues.

The best shows naturally tend to sell out early so that most times the tickets available are for shows that are in less demand and are at less convenient times. Federal holidays, vacation season or weekends make it almost impossible to get discounted tickets for the best shows such as Cirque du Soleil. Tickets sell out months in advance and snagging one can be like snagging a prized 1500-pound bluefin tuna.

You can also get discounted tickets at the hotel you’re staying in.

Since the main business of the hotels in Las Vegas is gaming they tend to give out very attractive prices on hotel stays, restaurants, shows and attractions. The drawback of this option is that you are limited to the shows in the hotel where you’re booked.

Hotels under the same parent company umbrella can offer discount tickets to other sister hotels. The two largest hotels chains in Las Vegas are MGM Resorts International (Circus-Circus, Mandalay Bay, Bellagio, The Mirage, etc) and Caesar’s Entertainment Inc (Caesar’s Palace, Flamingo, Paris, Harrah’s etc).

You can also opt to buy a package trip.

Bundling your hotel stay with entertainment and airfare can get you a really great deal. You can easily find packages to Las Vegas at the most well known travel sites such as Expedia and Travelocity or with your travel agent.

Be on the lookout for coupon booklets, flyers and magazines when you’re in Las Vegas.

You will literally be bombarded with offers and discounts starting on your flight to Las Vegas with in-flight magazines, at the airport, taxis or shuttles, at your hotel, at restaurants, attractions and up to the moment you leave Las Vegas. However, don’t expect to get great deals on the big blockbusters such as Cirque du Soleil and Le Reve. If you are flexible and can handle uncertainty well you might be able to get great deals.

5. You can also try your luck with online auctions stores like ebay or StubHub, which are two of the most reputable sites.

Some people purchase their tickets from individuals or scalpers at or near the entrance of the show. We don’t really recommend this tactic. The major downside of these two last alternatives is that the tickets might turn out to be fakes and ticket-scalping is illegal. So you might end up buying the most expensive tickets of your life and dealing with shady characters at the same time.

One of the best ways to get budget-friendly tickets is to plan ahead of time.

You can get great deals and even find plenty of things to do with kids in Las Vegas if you plan early. Make a detailed list of shows that you might be interested in and choose the one that is reasonably priced.

Best advice: Book far in advance as you can so you have maximum flexibility and you can make sure that the shows that you want are available. This is especially true if you are traveling with kids since you don’t want to be with them in long queues in the sun. For a relaxing Las Vegas family vacation, plan ahead.

It is best to make a list of the shows for kids in Las Vegas. Determine if the shows on your list will be sold out soon or are already sold out. This is easily done by looking at the availability of the shows for the same day and following weeks. If you are going to Las Vegas during peak periods such as holidays or weekends then your best bet is to get them ahead of time. But if it isn’t peak season, you might be able to get discounted tickets at the last minute. Book the tickets online as soon as you can since prices tend to go up as the show performance nears. The last thing you want to happen during your Las Vegas vacation is to get stuck with no tickets after spending a few hours in the sun with your kids. Or have tickets but for a show you don’t really want to watch. So plan ahead. This way, you get to relax and watch a Las Vegas show you’ve always wanted to see.

Las Vegas Warning – Areas to avoid in Las Vegas

Las Vegas is a true tourist town. There are, a few places that you should stay away from, especially since the economy has gotten worse.

Of course the Las Vegas strip is where millions of people come to visit annually, and although most of the strip is safe, it is probably best not to walk between Circus Circus and the Stratosphere hotel.

Here are some other places that are not as nice as the rest of the city.

On the south side of the strip, there are fewer and fewer places that you need to avoid, but if you can, try to avoid crossing the street between Planet Hollywood and the Harley-Davidson Cafe. The intersection here can be crossed, but far too many pedestrians cross when they shouldn’t, causing traffic issues in an already congested city. Try crossing the bridge from Planet Hollywood to the Cosmopolitan. From here you can get all the way to Mandalay Bay without ever having to cross at street level, making it safer for pedestrians and drivers alike. If you want to see the other side of the street, there is a crossing bridge between New York New York and MGM Grand where you can safely cross and go up the street.

If you are going to go to Fremont Street to enjoy “old Las Vegas” and watch the Fremont Street Experience, make sure you remain on Fremont Street. Fremont Street is a place that is fun and entertaining. Fremont Street itself is not that bad, but the parking and areas surrounding this place can be very dangerous. When visiting the Fremont Street area stay under the canopy where the lights are displayed. Heading onto side streets or streets north or south of those areas can be asking for trouble. Once at Fremont Street, keep a firm grip on your purse, and men keep your wallet in your front pocket. Pickpockets use the opportunity of people looking up at the light show to relieve tourists of their money. However, if you choose to see the Fremont Street area it has some of the cheapest food and gambling in the Las Vegas area.

The best recommendation is to always think safety and be aware of your surroundings. Enjoy!
